The Sales Development Specialist plays a critical role in driving business growth by supporting lead generation, client engagement, and sales process optimization. This position is responsible for identifying prospects, managing inbound inquiries as well as making outbound cold calls. By maintaining a robust sales funnel, optimizing sales operations, and strengthening new target relationships, the specialist directly contributes to increased contract acquisitions and revenue growth.
This is an in office (not remote) position located in Santa Clara, CA.
*Key Responsibilities of the Sales Development Specialist will include, but not limited to:
- Lead Generation (Revenue-Generating Activities):
- Gather intelligence on prospective properties and desirable jobs and companies that the Operations are interested in acquiring
- Identify and qualify potential customers through inbound inquiries, outbound calls, emails, and social media outreach.
- Conduct proactive prospecting via calls, emails, and LinkedIn to engage potential clients, decision-makers, and property managers.
- Maintain an active funnel pipeline, tracking lead status, follow-ups, and deal progression using CRM systems.
- Set qualified appointments for the Business Developer with high potential prospects.
- Monitor Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities, pre-qualified inquiries, and route viable contracts to the appropriate sales team.
- Develop and execute outreach campaigns in collaboration with marketing to generate new business opportunities.
2. Sales Outreach & Customer Engagement
- Assist in conducting virtual product presentations and sales pitches via phone, email, and video conferencing.
- Assist in addressing customer inquiries, objections, and concerns professionally and persuasively.
- Follow up with leads and prospects to move them through the sales funnel and drive conversions. If maintenance opportunity is not live, look to leverage additional ancillary services such as a foot in the door with client.
3. Sales Process Optimization & Support
- Ensure all sales documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Coordinate with sales teams for seamless deal handoffs and customer follow-ups.
4. Marketing & Client Engagement
- Execute targeted sales campaigns in coordination with the marketing team to drive new business.
- Attend industry networking events, trade shows, and client engagement activities to build relationships and identify new prospects.
- Oversee sales event logistics, including setup, materials, and lead capture strategies.
- Ensure marketing materials are up to date and available for industry groups and client presentations.
- Maintain and update the company’s email marketing lists if needed to ensure prospects and clients receive regular communications.
5. Client & Account Management Support
- Facilitate the seamless onboarding of new clients
- Gather and analyze client feedback to refine sales strategies and improve service offerings.
- Maintain accurate customer records in the CRM system, ensuring up-to-date sales and account information.
Are you the right fit for this role?
*SKILLS & EXPERIENCE that are necessary as a Sales Development Specialist will include, but not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, marketing, or related fields is highly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in lead generation, sales, or marketing
- Experienced in cold calling & building a rapport with potential customers by communicating specific service solutions to benefit the prospective customer
- Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and provide recommendations/strategies
- Excellent communication skills with a positive approach to objection handling
- Ability to deliver results with minimal supervision
- Good organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Knowledge of CRM and database management tools
- Proficient knowledge and use of lead generation tools such as (yelp, google, linkedin & other social media platforms) and proficient in MS office programs (Outlook email & calendar, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

SALARY RANGE:
- $65,000 - $83,000 per year
